In a highly competitive economic scenario it’s over more important re-boost efficiency by redesigning the management control of business and distribution flows. The logistics is characterized by the outsourcing of parts of the process. It is therefore clear, that it is necessary to shed legacy information systems and opt for a completely new technological platform, capable of integrating and harmonizing the huge amount of data while drastically cutting down on mining time and analysis costs. In order to accomplish this complex project, it is necessary to have the ability to integrate technological platforms that feature all the necessary components for a complete management of the analytical flow: from record and application data-entry to theme datamarts, from document sharing to business glossary management, to the control of the feeding and loading flow of the different environments. The huge potential and expandability of an integrated analytical system, that can rapidly provide qualitative and high value added data, was immediately apparent. Concurrently, the use of an entirely web-based technology contributed to improving the work quality, making relevant data accessible from any workstation through a simple browser. To exploit the analisys possibility of innovative Business Intelligence solutions, Fiat Auto decided to completely redesign its business and distribution management control system, equipping it with an integrated data-warehousing system covering its global product range. The system had to guarantee the harmonization and swift usability of data, that up to that point had been decentralized on a wide variety of technological infrastructures. Reply supported Fiat by designing and implementing the control system of the chassis distribution cycle. The system architecture, that was designed to favor the parallel and independent development of the different business intelligence components, made it possible to roll out the first distribution logistics analysis modules – Reply’s area of expertise - in just 6 months.
