New apps appear daily for smart phones, touch PCs and tablets – the app world is becoming continuously more varied and complex. Companies are also investing more in mobile applications for various devices to appeal to customers as well as to management and employees. For most companies this means: Offer more than just apps for various devices but also for various platforms such as Microsoft, Apple or Android. Development expenses can be reduced considerably if the apps can be used on any device. And this is exactly what syskoplan offers. As an integration partner, the IT service provider develops device and operating system-independent applications for its customers as middleware based on the syskoplan ePortal. The apps can be integrated into the platforms from Apple (iPad, iPhone), Microsoft (Microsoft Phone 7, Microsoft Windows Slate) and Android.
Application architecture Based on the back ends in the corresponding companies - from data warehouses, CRM, SharePoint, and security systems up to cloud computing - syskoplan uses the ePortal as middleware to develop device and operating system-independent applications. This means the native functions of the corresponding end devices’ operating systems are supported, the workflow and user interface are adapted.
syskoplan ePortal The syskoplan ePortal is a proven product for handling larger amounts of content and for providing these contents for IP-based access – independent of which end device is used to access it. syskoplan’s ePortal has been implemented at numerous customers for years and has proven its effectiveness, including at NRK, Norway’s national broadcaster. The ePortal middleware has a separate business logic, can be configured individually, and offers interfaces to many existing backend systems. It is therefore also suitable as a back end platform for corporate or company-owned app stores.
One app for all With syskoplan as an integration partner, companies can develop applications in one step with a high integration percentage as a complete solution, independent of the devices.
“The use of the ePortal makes it possible for us to develop complete mobile application solutions for many possible devices for our customers. These new apps can be used by customers and employees, independent of whether they are using an iPad, Microsoft Slate, a Microsoft Phone 7, a Google phone or pad." This is how Wolfgang Klein, partner of syskoplan AG, explained the advantages of the solution.
