The incumbent system was not fit for purpose and resourcing information not widely available. After a short period of interviews and analysis, Glue Reply designed a solution and process, utilising the existing systems that the customer had access to, that facilitated more efficient use of resourcing data into collated reports, tailored for each of the key users. This allowed the customer to recognise how resourcing peaks and troughs would impact programme delivery and take consequential proactive steps to manage their critical project portfolio.
The challenge was to design and implement a new resourcing tool and project process in a short 3 month timescale, to a low customer budget. After some analysis Glue Reply decided to make use of existing platforms and software within the customer organization. Adapting the organizational processes to maximize the value in the data being recorded. Glue Reply also modified some pieces of software so that it would perform to requirements and created a reporting suite that was adaptable and tailorable to different users for different levels of data.
The team introduced the concept of having a fully resourced project plan for all of the contracts, which was facilitated by the creation of 20 resourced templates, which could be adapted for each contract.
The team also performed a cleansing of all of the resource data, existing project plans and contract information, designing and implementing a new contract management system with more intelligent use of data.
As well as providing architects and consultants Glue Reply developed IP for the customer on this project, so that it could be applied across the organization.
