Spike Reply organised, in collaboration with IBM and with the participation of Gabriele Faggioli (Lawyer and Adjunct Professor at MIP-Politecnico di Milano), a workshop titled "Garante 2" measure: the Data Protection Authority’s clarifications. Provisions on the subject of traceability of banking operations. The Data Protection Authority has recently issued an interpretative document in compliance with resolution no. 192/2011, about the flow information reported to clients within banking groups and the ’traceability’ of banking operations. In particular, with this communication the Data Protection Authority has extended to 3rd June 2014 the deadline for the implementation of the provisions formerly due on December 2013, and has responded to a series of ambiguous interpretations in question, that had come up during the "ABI Lab" round table. The aim of the workshop was to illustrate the clarifications provided by the Data Protection Authority and to explore together the outcomes of the ABI Lab roundtable, which met on 20th September, with the intention of drawing up interpretative guidelines for the measure. The meeting represented an opportunity to provide conceptual and practical guidance to all participants, which were extremely useful for proceeding with the necessary activities required to implement the measure.
