Open Reply, the Reply Group digital Customer Experience agency in UK that uses design and technology to create better, more profitable customer journeys for its clients’ brand, has developed the new Bitesize app for the BBC to complement the hugely popular Bitesize website.
The project was managed and led by the Media Applications Technologies and the broadcaster’s Learning department.
The app is now available to download for free for Android and IOS smartphones, and will provide students with personalised revision cards for their GCSE exams. The launch version of the app will focus initially on core subjects of Maths, Science and English, but will in time develop to cover most other curricular subjects. The app has been designed to cater for the needs of students in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
By employing in-depth user experience design and testing, the app will provide personalised and relevant learning for students on the go, and has been designed to complement the desktop website experience.
Open Reply’s team seamlessly integrated with the broadcaster’s agile processes, working with its teams across Salford and Glasgow, to deliver the app in a four month period.
Dominic Stinton, Partner at Open Reply, says of the project: “It was a huge privilege working with the BBC on such an important project that will touch the lives of millions of students. It was a dream project to work on, and we were really impressed with the BBC’s team, who were clear experts in their field, committed to the project, transparent and a joy to work with”.
