The mobile platform supports supply chain execution processes in different environments and operating systems.

Logistics wants to be more than just a synonym for warehouse. As far as extended logistics are concerned, there is a growing need for a platform capable of hosting a number of applications and extending its usage across the whole logistic supply chain: Line, Yard, Delivery point, Sale point.

Click Reply™ Mobile Platform​ is our mobility solution to meet this specific market requirement.

The application platform has been implemented for two different environments: Microsoft and Android.

Microsoft

Based on Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5 (.NET CF) and developed with C# technology — for a more efficient terminal management — its main strength is its scalability. Thanks to its scalability, the application adapts to different terminal, hardware and software configurations, as well as to the settings of the different scenarios in which it can be used. .NET CF allows access to hardware resources (such as Imager, RFID readers and Wireless networks) located inside the terminal, independently of the operating system version or hardware.

Android

Based on Android SDK, Android 4.2+ compatible, developed with Java programming language. A dedicated solution for new Android-based terminals and used as an alternative solution to Microsoft terminals. Oriented towards the smart device class for enterprise and/or consumer solutions. Similarly to the one for Microsoft, the Android platform allows accurate device management, with higher camera precision.

There are different endpoints in our solution, all deriving from the need for an increasingly varied device range in logistics: from normal warehouse terminals to Rugged Phones/Tablets and RFID&Mobile Tagging.

Our solution — supported by advanced features such as data capture (including barcode scanning), RFID tag reading, image and Wireless/WiFi network acquisition, and OnLine&OffLine functions — simplifies processes and allows staff to capture and send information within a growing network and extend its applicability to Outdoor processes at any time.

Here are a few potential applications within the Supply Chain:

  • Display usage to show images, text, lists
  • Assembly line — Diagrams and instructions on how to assemble components
  • Contextual input via Voice, keyboard, touch screen, scanner, RFID
  • Interaction with a web address (URL) and its content
  • Image capture as part of a workflow: e.g. field service, quality control
  • Sending emails through the terminal (via voice)
  • Mobile Tagging for Proof of Delivery (e.g. Microsoft Tag)

Click Reply WiFi Client

WiFi Client is the first application developed through Mobile Platform and it is used at Click Reply™ for RF operation management. Along with standard functions, with WiFi Client it is possible to:

  • use thermal printers connected to the devices
  • display images located in non-Click Reply systems
  • acquire images through the device camera and send them on to a different system
  • communicate with other software located within the terminal, e.g. through file exchange​
