This year’s Dreamforce 2022 celebrated its 20th Anniversary and marked the first return to the full in-person format since before the pandemic and was titled “The Great Reunion’’. There were more than 40,000 attendees and over 110,000 online viewers worldwide thanks to Salesforce+ and as Salesforce Co-CEOs Marc Benioff and Bret Taylor described it, “this is a family reunion and just feels so good to be back’’.
We were fortunate to have our colleagues from Arlanis Reply UK, Italy and Germany together with Sagepath Reply representing us at the event in San Francisco.

The opening keynote started the event with an emphasis on making the world a better place: “It’s a new day” for business, environment, Trailblazers, work, and Customer 360. Salesforce announced the launch of a carbon credits marketplace, with the ambition to clear the path to net zero emissions for customers and the company's plan to plant one trillion trees to help offset the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere
The company made several exciting announcements at the event with the main focus around the Salesforce Customer 360 and the first real-time CRM, Slack updates and a few more that caught our attention and are worth mentioning further.
’’Genie brings the power of real-time data to the entire Customer 360, making AI more intelligent and automation more powerful.’’
Salesforce introduced Genie , the first real-time platform for customer magic as they describe it. Unifying data from sales, service, marketing, commerce, IT, and much more to build a real-time view and describing it as the greatest Salesforce innovation in the company’s history
We can say that Genie is basically an extended CDP (Customer Data Platform) with a dynamic and adaptive single source of truth about each customer in real-time and on a larger scale. This will allow organisations to gain a better understanding of their customer journey, make more effective predictions and take the next best actions. Genie also claims to be much faster and able to “read” data sources without moving or duplicating data into Salesforce thanks to its integration with Snowflake and improved Connection and Automation with Mulesoft.
Another great tool was introduced to help the automotive industry to accelerate thanks to Genie for Automotive which can help the industry reduce costs with innovations that streamline automotive experiences. OEMs can provide seamless customer engagement journeys and dealer collaboration. Retailers can provide intelligent service and increase dealer profitability through personalized engagements that are powered by real-time data, and much more. We can’t wait to see the endless possibilities that Genie can offer.
’’Your digital HQ just got better with Slack canvas’’
Slack canvas was described as a place which will allow teams to pull all this rich content and data together — so they can spend less time searching for information, and more time moving work forward. The beauty of this is that anyone – whether you’re in marketing, design, or sales – can tailor a canvas to suit their teams’ needs. This can be campaign planning, project planning, sales account updates, and so much more https://slack.com/intl/en-gb/blog/productivity/your-digital-hq-just-got-better-with-slack-canvas
Huddles Coworking gets some improvement too like Lightweight video with one click, Multiperson screen sharing, drawing and cursors and it will allow you to use emoji, reactions, and stickers. Our favourite is that the information shared during a huddle – including links, files, and notes – gets automatically saved in the channel or DM where the huddle had been started. This provides teammates with a useful trail of key decisions and next steps, whether or not they were in the huddle.
“Connect. Automate. Accelerate.’”
This year at Dreamforce, MuleSoft announced a host of new features and products designed to help businesses connect real-time data from any system, automate processes using clicks or code, and accelerate innovation with turnkey solutions. Thanks to MuleSoft, Genie’s Real-Time Customer Graph integrates billions of data points from any system and unifies it into one, dynamic source of truth. We also saw Anypoint Platform and Composer, which allows developers and business users to integrate data and automate customer engagements in Salesforce Customer Data Platform (CDP).
We also saw the ability to Automate across the Customer 360 with RPA, Composer, and Anypoint Platform. MuleSoft Automation is powering Salesforce Flow, a key part of Genie magic and led by the newest product, MuleSoft RPA delivers end-to-end automations. MuleSoft Composer then extends these capabilities into more modern systems with pre-built connectors and a drag-and-drop user experience. Looks like Mulesoft improvement can now remove the complexity and provides flexibility and agility that can help to deliver projects much faster and on much bigger scale.
In conclusion we can say that Salesforce continues its focus on removing barriers to effective operations such as out-of-date data, and the challenge of collaborating effectively in an online world. This is a huge challenge, regardless of how sophisticated the technology is, but Salesforce is attempting something big here that’s never been done before by changing the way data moves around the platform with Genie.
