Reply today announced that it has been chosen as a winner of the SAP and Google Glass Challenge for its successful development of an enterprise wearable app using SAP HANA® Cloud Platform and Google Glass Explorer Edition technologies. Reply was selected from among more than 70 entries.
As an SAP partner in the SAP® PartnerEdge® program, Reply developed its application leveraging tools and resources from SAP, including SAP HANA Cloud Platform and Google Glass.
"With our POS solution, the shelf survey process in the consumer packaged goods and retail industries is simplified and speeded up considerably. The sales representative gathers the information in a convenient way, with a direct view of the products on the shelf, and saves time," said Dr. Rolf Sundermeier, partner at Reply. "Integrating the Reply Category Management solution with SAP HANA Cloud Platform and the backbone is simple and makes the solution accessible to the broad customer base of SAP".
The Android-based app for Google Glass enables sales representatives to directly capture the information required on the status of the shelf at a glance, meaning that complicated handling of hardware is rendered unnecessary, as is scrolling to find products in the software. Higher sales in the outlet and in the category are supported thanks to immediate measures introduced by the sales representative and to the more reliable figures in the category management database.
As a winner of the 2015 SAP and Google Glass Challenge for Enterprise, Reply received enablement, certification and go-to-market support from SAP and Glass at Work. Smart POS Category Management can be found in SAP HANA App Center, where it is discoverable and available to SAP’s 293,500 customers worldwide.
"We congratulate the Reply team on winning the challenge for this smart new wearable app and its elegant use of SAP HANA Cloud Platform and Google Glass," said Thorsten Leiduck, global vice president, ISV Ecosystem, SAP. "This recognition is an excellent achievement given the high degree of innovation and level of participation in the challenge. Each of the winning solutions provides great value for our customers and a compelling business case. This is an outstanding proof point for breakthrough innovation delivered through the ecosystems for SAP solutions and Google Glass".
The 2015 SAP and Google Glass Challenge was offered to attract independent software vendors and SAP partners to build the most innovative applications delivering high value to customers, showcasing the best use of SAP HANA Cloud Platform and Google Glass Explorer Edition. An additional aim was to increase awareness of partnership opportunities with SAP and Glass at Work and to expedite the app development phase for partners.
